Another Year has come to an end and summer is in full swing. We anxiously await the fall for a new choir season, but in the meantime, many jump at the opportunity when one of our families offers her home for an end of the year BBQ. In Manitoba you have to be prepared for anything and when you are expecting 50 people the next day, nature sometimes likes to play games. Just listen to our BBQ hostess as she re-tells the lead up to the big day.
I was worried when a few days before the party, the temperature went down and the pool was cold, and the dogs got sprayed by a skunk, and the trampoline mat ripped and the pony went lame and the rain filled the yard with huge muddy puddles and the firepit was under 6 inches of water...But.... kids will swim even in cold water and we put the dogs in the goat pen and the trampoline was fixed in time and the pony was feeling better and we used pallets to make walkways and reassembled the firepit on the driveway. There was lots of food and nobody cried - it was a success! I think we had about 50ish people - at one point, there were at least 20 in the pool. We'd definitely be open to having a get together here again.
Thank You for opening your home to everyone. See you all in September.
